Army Officer’s Dagger by SMF, Solingen

A Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by SMF of Solingen (Solinger Metallwarenfabrik Stoecker & Co.). An completely matching, slant grip version by SMF. Truly, a rare find! The bright blade on this one is fine. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The acid etched “SMF Solingen” maker mark is beautifully executed. The blade rates Exc++. The scabbard provides nice detail throughout, with the random pebbling and the hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands. There are one bump. The SMF crossguard provides beautiful details throughout the distinctive SMF eagle's head, beak, wings, wreath and chest. The crossguard, scabbard, ferrule and pommel all match in color and patina. The hand enhanced details look great. The early orange trylon grip on this one this one also looks great. This is honestly a great piece that is hard to come by!
