The tunic is made of earlier green/grey (field-grey) combat cloth. 6 pebbled metal button front closure. Bottle-green collar with metal hook and catch to the neck for closure. The tunic has four pleated patch front pockets with scalloped button down flaps. Sleeves with interestingly with added (period tailored) deep french cuffs. Officer’s style hand embroidered collar tabs with red rayon stripes to the center denoting service in the Artillery. The collar tabs is machine sewn in place. To the shoulders is slip on shoulder straps with red wool underlay and russian braid to the top. Each strap has a fire gilt unit cypher “2” and a “B” for “Beobachtung” (Observation). Factory sewn above the right breast pocket is a BeVo produced national eagle machine sewn in place with typical heavy zig-zag stitching. To the left breast pocket is award loops sewn for three badges. Hand sewn to the second button hole we find the ribbon for the WWII Iron Cross 2’class.

Inside is fully lined with mouse-grey brushed cotton. The inside right lapel is well marked with size, depot marks “F.40” as well as a very interesting unit mark “G.W. / A rgt”. The inside cloth has also several different cloth batch or tailor stamps in black ink.

The tunic is in very good condition with only light signs of use. No rips, tears or mendings. The tunic is also free from stains.
